Hi Freya is on caps as she hates they liquid, we just springle them in her yoghurt she eats them fine, maybe try some ice cream?? Freya has had her fair share of GA's.........scary yes but honestly she is fine after about 10mins on the ward, she runs around looking as she is a bit drunk!! She has had 6 GA's and she has bounced back very quickly with each one of them, so try not to worry x

Hi

My daughter had a pH test when she was about 16 weeks old and she didn't have a GA. They just inserted the tube up her nose and down her throat without the need for any anaesthetic or sedative. She didn't find it very pleasant and did cry but had literally forgotten about the tube within a couple of minutes. She did gag a bit afterwards (maybe for half an hour) but that is totally normal and it didn't unduly upset her. Defo worth doing the pH test as it is the gold standard for diagnosing silent reflux and so is worth it. The worst part of it is that babies need to be off their meds for a few days beforehand. In my daughters case that was hell on earth - we didn't realise that the meds had been partially working until we took her off them (it is amazing how quickly you can forgot how bad things can be). As well as telling you whether or not there is silent reflux the pH test can tell the doctors how severe the reflux is and therefore assist with working out what meds to use to control it.

I was really worried about my daughter having it done but I would encourage you to get it done as it really isn't that bad at all.
