Hi - New to the site

My daughter who is now two and half had reflux was never a big eater i would struggle to get a feed down her as she was in pain, however she hardly ever vomited (if she did it was usually hours after feeding) and she settled on cow and gate comfort with gaviscon i was lucky. WIth my second daughter who is now eight weeks old its a different story,

She started out fine i thought great a normal baby who feeds well, she was refluxing but not vomiting what i would call normal for a newborn, how wrong was i . She started vomiting but normally just one feed would immediatley wnat to be fed again, anf then an hour after every feed we would have screaming, she stopped sleeping and was constantly tired.

After a night spent in hospital (after a day from hell) being told that she had colic (and reasurring very nicely a junior doctor that i knew she didnt), told to reduce her feeds (not easy as she was feeding really well didnt struggle to get milk down at all so she screamed because she was still hungary then) i finally saw a doctor who made sense. He put her on LOSEC and gaviscon (i also changed her milk to cow and gate comfort). I think this would have worked except the LOSEC came in tablet form which i had to break in two and then disolve into granules which she gagged on really struggled to get it down her, have now be given ranitadine which seems to be doing the trick so far although she still has restless times in her sleep.

i have just ordered a new wedge (as seen on baby whisperer) to try and make her more comfortable. I hope things will stay on the up as i forgot how hard having a baby with reflux is, and i don't want to see her in pain anymore. Just need to keep on top of the medication and keep fingers crossed.
