Calling fellow reflux suffers in surrey

Hi

I have a daughter (Rose) who has severe silent reflux...so she doesn't puke but she does scream a lot! I live in Walton on Thames in Surrey. It would be good to meet someone else who really understands the situation as I don't know anyone else who has to cope with this awful condition.

Thanks for getting in touch. It would be good to meet. I have a very supportive NCT group but they just have no idea what I have been through and sometimes meeting up with them makes me feel worse when I see their babies feeding away so easily. Hi girls...i live in selsdon, surrey near to sanderstead?? not sure if thats near to any of you? my boys are alot older than your bubs but am around if anyone needs 5mins to let of steam when the crying gets to much..it is one of the most difficult things to deal wiv and i wish there was more awareness out there as like the other mums on this site i hav had to deal wiv the screaming etc and i hav really felt that im not a good enuff mum at times because i couldnt stop my wee one from crying when in actual fact he had this silent refluk... got letter in wk to say that cian had 406 moderate-severe episodes of reflux during his 24hr ph study one which lasted 14mins...he dosent hav coelic disease which is gd news but i hav taken him off pasta bases meals and his wind has got better so going to ask my gp what allergy tests they can do.

Yes I know what you mean about seeing the other mothers with their nicely behaved babies! My NCT friends are great but as you say they have no idea! I get a bit envious at times - not that I would swap Rose for any other baby - but I feel envious of their contented babies and the activities they do with them etc etc when my main aim of the day is just to get out of the house! When is best for me to phone - any particular time of day or evening? Evenings are easier for me to phone as Rose does sleep quite well in the evening, but that may not be the case for Orla.

Emma - thanks for the offer and glad that you at least have a diagnosis. I found that actually understanding what is wrong helped me to cope. I swapped Rose onto neocate milk at the weekend and her wind has immediately stopped. I am amazed.

Hi Fiona,
Evenings are good for me, Orla is normally asleep by 7.30 so that would be a good time to chat. How old is Rose? Orla is on Neocate too, plus ranitadine (omeprezole didn't seem to work so well for us) and Domperidrone. Talk soon

Hi Katie

Yeh all OK with me - I will give you a call tomorrow evening (Wed). Last night was a bit hectic for me and was going to call you tonight but I see you are lucky and have an evening off! I will call you once Rose is asleep so should be around 7.30ish....it is weird as her early evening feed always used to be her best feed and now it has become her worst! IOh yeh - I was going to suggest Kingston to meet up as it seems to be located sort of in the middle of us...anyway spk tomorrow.
