Oh what a dreadful weekend!
My friend was having a murder mystery party on saturday night and my mum was going to have the little ones to stay at hers overnight (in the hope that ill have a good nights sleep after the dinner!)
We got up sat morning and everything seemed ok. Rory had been up for a good few hours screaming in the night with the refluxing (yup, normal there then) but looking back now it continued quietly after the screaming for longer than it normally would.
so that morning I picked Rory up and laid him back on the bed to talk to him and he stared at me blankly and then bright flourescent yellow sick projectiled over him! so i grabbed him up and sat him because i was going to rub his back, he continued to be sick then he just flopped over, i screamed for his dad and he rushed in and took him off me and he was still all floppy, he then seemed like he was struggling to breath and he was soo quiet i was terrified. after a few quiet minutes he kind of started looking around the room again so we took him in the other room and i rung nhs direct.
They said they would get a doc to ring me back but in the meantime if it happens again dial 999.
A few mins after getting off the phone he started throwing up the bright yellow and looking blank and going bright red and struggling again, so we dialled 999 and they sent an ambulance who took us to hosp. They did some tests (blood tests etc) and in the end they said they thought it was a sickness bug and that he could've struggled to breathe and gone floppy because when they're sick the pressure builds up in the throat causing a temporary restriction. we were kept in for obs for the day - and thankgoodness because he couldn't keep anything down and when we did go home they said dont worry about feeding him unless he seems hungry just keep giving him 5ml of diarolyte every 5 minutes or whatever he tolerates of it.
During the night and today he's developed a temperature and he's just seems so unwell, not himself at all, doing this constant weird moan and crying alot and burying his head downwards on anything (his legs/the bed/my shoulder/the floor!)
ive moved his cot into our room at the end of the bed because im so petrified that he'll throw up in his sleep and stop breathing or something and i wont hear it on the monitor.
I thought he seemed hungry so gave him a weetabix earlier and he's kept it down and is now finally asleep. i am so praying that we're over the worst now
Both me and his dad admitted to each other that in the morning when he went floppy we seriously thought that was it, was one of the most frightening experiences ever.
so needless to say our murder mystery character costumes were wasted and i had a worse night than ever!
Something always seems to happen when i been invited somewhere, my friends must be sick of me cancelling because of my tiredness or rory and the reflux being particularly bad! Ofcourse they understand though but they must be frustrated with me!
bring on the days these stupid docs keep talking about where our little ones have "grown out of it"
Sorry for the rant! when am i going to be able to enjoy my baby properly!!!!!
