Hi, I saw the Gastroentologist(?) and he has put my 9 month, she'll be ten months, through for an endoscopy. I came away thinking I can get some info and cancel it if i don't fancy it as he almost gave me the choice. Has anyone else's baby had one? Im worried about the anaesthetic. also has anyone any experience of a stomach biopsy? what might he be looking for? I know I should have asked him but we've had a few problems with Mia and I get anxious! thanks

Hiya all
I'm a first time mum to baby Chloe wo is four weekws old. At about two weeks old she started projectile vomiting, throwing up hours after feeds, arching her back and crying whilst feeding and screaming sometimes for an hour or so afterwards. I was terrified as I had no idea what was wrong then yesterday she was diagnosed with reflux, i'm so glad to have a diagnosis so i can research what might help, at the moment a dummy seems to soothe her for a couple of minutes, maybe she swallows th…

My baby girl has reflux and contrary to what our Doctor and health visitor waved us off with, it is not getting better and infact it has got alot worse. They are now only listening to me after I went to see them and have been diagnosed with depression. I am at breaking point and don't know what to do to make her better. My husband has been signed off to help me cope as she feeds little and often, does not sleep during the day and wriggles about all night in pain. I am more exhausted than I have…

Hi everyone, after having yet another night of being up nearly all night with my screaming son I rang the consultants secretarys number, not expecting anyone to be there really as snow is very deep but didn't know what else to try.
For the second time running the doctor that we see ( think he's the registrar) answered the phone himself!!!, he must have an amazing memory as I'm sure he see hundreds of babies but both times I have rung him he has been able to recall details that we have discussed,…

HELP!!! My LO is 6 months old and on 1.9ml omeprazole once a day, 2.3ml domperidone three times a day, 1ml ranitidine three times a day and gaviscon in every bottle. Last night he cried and seemed in pain all night, arching his back and then curling in to a ball, he sobbed 'real' tears and nothing I could do seemed to help, he has been like this again for a couple of weeks, initially the omeprazole appeared to be working but now we are back to square one. What next?????

I think the reflux (silent) is pretty much under control, she is not sick any more and does not seem in pain during the day. Little Harry is 5 wks old ans been diagnosed with silent reflux, on Gaviscon and Renitidine also put 5 ml gripe water into his bottle, apart from crying most of the day he is gaining weight and looks well, but does not settle at all.
In the first place my health visitor suggested that perhaps the milk was not suited and he may be allergic to milk, we dismissed this because he was not sick and gaining weight, but we did change the milk from SMA gold to Aptamel for hungry babies then to easily di…

Hi
My LO has severe reflux and the Paeds have slowly been working their way through all the various tests to eliminate anything else. They found she had a heart mumour caused by pulmony stenosis and then reffered us to a genetisist last week. He thinks that she has something called Noonan's Syndrome which affects one in 1000 babies. The main symtoms are poor feeding, poor weight gain, reflux, short stature, heart problems, drooping eye lids. poor hearing etc (the list is frighteninglllly endless…

WOW WOW WOW
My little boy is a different little baby! Ranitidine eases the acid pain and the wonderful wonderful Carobel keeps the milk down! No more do I have to mop up sick all day long, we now just have the odd dribble! We stopped the Infant Gaviscon as it never worked 1st time round and I felt it did nothing this time either.
We had a hiccup a couple of weeks ago when we ran out of Carobel and the Pharmacy had to order it in. So for 48 hours we had my old boy back with vomiting everywhere.…

Hello,
My little girl Orla is now 6 months old and she has suffered badly with severe reflux since birth. She has struggled to gain weight, is on various reflux meds and Neocate formula and had an NG feeding tube for 3 months. Although we have now got rid of it she is still very hard work to feed and is still puking 40-50% of her feeds. Life has been tough and up until now I really haven't had time to look for other reflux parents in my area. It would be great to meet up with fellow parents who…
