emma louise kelly replied to Molly's discussion 'pH probe test'
The first time we stayed overnight but the second time I took her home as thought it would be more beneficial to see what her acid levels were in normal circumstances.  I put her in her car seat, pram, stand up play centre, bouncy chair, cot…

Hi, my lo suffered from severe reflux due to dairy intollerance.  She had a probe at around 8 months old, which unfortunately was placed wrong by the nurse and missed by the doctor who checked the x-ray.  This meant she had to have it…

Hi Jasmine is sooo hyper but not knowing any different I just thought it was normal. From so young she would insist on standing up not liking cuddles very much. Now she is crawling! It's a nightmare lol, changing a nappy has become a task and a…

emma louise kelly replied to Joanne Clemas's discussion 'Is this as good as it gets?'
Hi Joanne, this is certainly not as good as it gets, the treatment you and your lo have received is just typical of HV, doctors and paeds across the country and they only listen if you keep on and on and on (which is terrible). Firstly it sounds…

She's gone to sleep now but I can hear her groaning and whining in her sleep so maybe it's caused tummy ache, it's bit of a strong coincidence she is like it again after dairy, yep i'm not even going to let her cuddle her soft…

Oh Em - poor Jasmine! If I were you I'd leave the dairy for a week & stick to getting her used to veggie finger foods. I hope she calms down soon xx

Yep waffles in freezer section. Have to check ingredients though. My dd loves themZ it's one of only a handful of foods she will eat and they're great to just stick under the grill. I did buy pizza fingers but she wouldn't eat them.…

Sweet potato is nice esp roasted & you can get small ones. If I want it as mash I just wash it & bake it whole then scoop out from the skin. Or chop & roast with tatties with roast dinner...mmmm! Frozen veg is a staple in our house as…

Miserable baby, miserable mummy :-( the story so far

Hi all, I am getting so down, can't stop crying today. Jasmine was diagnosed with reflux at around 7 weeks and prescribed gaviscon. This stopped the vomiting but caused constipation and did nothing to alleviate symptoms - back arching, screaming for hours and hours (and hours), hiccups, wet burps, gas, irritabilty etc etc. Was then px domperidone which caused neurological problems and that was stopped. She was then px ranitidine which did nothing and finally omeprazole which improved the… Continue

Hi again, We're also struggling with food -lumpy food fine but finding finger foods that won't upset his reflux, are wheat free to not set off wheezing again, won't cause choking & actually satisfy his appetite becoming a real pain...not forgetting his new fussiness- my home cooked oat biccies & flapjacks been spat out or thrown on floor in disgust!
Just tried him on new snacks from free from range & got same treatment before choking on them...oh well try again another day & hope for a quiet night! What does Jasmine eat? xx

Don't blame you for being reluctant to try dairy, but would be nice if she's ok with that too! I suppose you'll never know till you try...I'm same with wheat though with causing wheezing more likely to be allergy he won't grow out of. Not supposed to try again til 18mths. Some days I doubt myself & want to try it but can't risk making him suffer more as still stuck with reflux! At least if Jasmine is eating finger foods she's chewing & having lumps of some sort which is good for jaw dev & speech. Rotten about work, I'm back too part-time. Though Ben's happy being left in not coping well with everything at mo x
