I was just reading your posts and wanted to share my story and offer some support. My son is 6 months old next monday and the first 10 weeks were hell!!!! He was fine at first but took ages to drink his milk. After a few weeks he strted refusing the bottle. He would take about 30ml then scream and scream. We used to have to go out in the car, go for walks, anything to distract him and then try to feed him again. All we seemed to do was feed him and cope with the screaming. I kept going to the doctor, who just kept saying I was over anxious!! Eventually, I had had enough so went to A&E where we were referred to a peadiatrician. We haven't looked back since!!! They were shocked that my doctor hadn't listened as they could see how bad things were. I started my son on solids at 16 weeks as he just wasn't putting much weight on at all, and was only drinking about 18oz a day. Luckily he much prefers his solids and is doing ok now. He is on ranitidine and thick and easy in his milk. He still doesn't like his milk very much, but at least he has his solids ok. He was 7lb 8oz when he was born and now weighs 13lb 10oz so his weight gain has been slow. Don't worry about waiting until 6 months to start on solids. I felt so much better when he started on them as I felt at least he was getting something from them, when he wasn't having much milk.
Hope this helps.

I don't know what I'd have done without this site!!! It is very helpful knowing there are other going through the same things. Do let me know how the weaning goes. My son started off by just having a couple of spoonfulls at first. It is best to take it slowly and go with your baby. If she doesn't want it, just offer it again the next day. Do keep me posted and good luck.

Welcome to the site.
I notice you mention - Infitrini high calorie feed - is this on prescription? Is it a form of milk or is it something that is added to milk?
Despite Domperidone and Ranitidine helping Fraya to vomit a lot less she now seems to hate her milk even more than before she was on these drugs and takes about half an ounce in the morning and then I have to persevere for about another 30 mins to give her 1.5 ounces more! I used to try and feed her for an hour each feed but it was pointless as it was stressing both of us out too much. Now I only try for about 30 mins or less each time.
Have you started weaning now? if so, how is this going? Fraya only takes a few mouthfuls and starts moaning - sometimes it can be such a nightmare!
