Sorry to but in on your discussion -
I gave my little one 1 sachet until he reached 8oz, then I put in two. I didn't go by his weight - because I didn't want to give too much in the milk and make him sick from the amount.
Hope that helps. Take care - Nikkiy
No worries any help and advice is always welcome!!
I have done the same and seems to be working, how many doses a day are you using? I currently stick to 6?
Cheers

Just read your quetions. Rohan's breastfed so it's been diffficult to judge how much to give him. I have to give the gaviscon in a syringe mixed with cool boiled water as a gel. I gave him only one sachet until hae was well over 14 IB, we still did this if my hubby fed with expressed milk from a bottle. I must say though his symptoms got worse not better and we upped the dose to 2 whether he's bottle or breast fed, knowing that he rarely got 225ml of milk. His symptoms have improved a little since we did this.
I hate the thought of giving him so much especially since it constpiates him, but it's better than his cries of pain. I discussed this with the consultant and he said it was impotant to give 2 doses even if the volume of milk isn't up to 8 oz. have you concidered using the pre-gelatinised formula in a bottle (eg enfamil AR) we've started to give a bottle of this before bedtime.
hope this helps.
sal x
Thanks for your help, how many double total doses are allowed in a day. Is it 3 or 6 I'm confused??
Regards
Nikki
