Sarah 18-22oz in 24hrs is fine. Ryan isn't even taking that at the minute. We were on 14-15oz at one stage. He didnt loose any weight so try not to worry. We have been given the liquid omeprazole but i probably will change to the tablets. so at…

Hi Sarah, Firstly hang on in there. We were exactly the same. Silent reflux and possible CMPI. Ryan only took 2oz max initially and screamed for about a week at the bottle. Then he settled and took 4oz feeds. He has bad excema and this cleared up…

Having tried both I would say the tablets are better too, though I thought the liquid *should* be. It's exactly that which makes me wonder if we gave up on omeprazole too soon. Just one of those things you find out from other more experienced…

Hi Ladies, We waited over 8 weeks to get a reply and they said the reply must have gone into spam folder  -but I checked and it hadn't. I had to phone them in the end. They then sent an email with questions and we had to send the barcode…

Your poor LO hope he is feeling much better now. We have never had the omeprazole liquid only the MUPs tablets in 20mg form, they really seem to do the trick as without them our LO just vommits everywhere and stops eating altogether. I would be wary…

Get well soon Ryan! I don't think the liquid stuff is better (though at £200 a bottle you'd hope so). It has a short shelf life so many people have found it loses effectiveness after 2 weeks and they are constantly having to get…

Liquid omazaparole

Hi Ladies, We have had an eventfull couple of days with my little refluxer being in hospital with bronchiolitis. Thankfully he is home now on inhalers. My consultant came to see us today as we were due to see him on weds. He has told me to stop the zantac and has put Ryan on 5mg  omezaparole. the nurse showed me how to dissolve the tablets etc but when i collected the script it is the liquid form and was told not to drop the bag as it is very expensive! Is this liquid stuff and better? As much…See More

Hi Edel, Firstly, lots of hugs to you. Coping with a crying baby and a poorly father is so hard. My mum had cancer when Douglas was born and we thought she might not survive so I can really relate. I don't want to sound like my annoying health…

Another Neocate question/ need reassurance

Hi Ladies, Another question!  We are almost 4 weeks on neocate. Ryan is 16 weeks almost 17. The first 8 days were difficult with poor feeding and screaming. Same as before we went onto neocate. Excema cleared up initially but is back worse than ever. The screaming stopped and he was happily taking 4oz bottles for me.  However for this past 5/6 days he has gradually went back to square one. Refusing to feed and screaming. I am in tears at every attempted feed. He has had a cold and is now…See More

Sarah replied to Mary Edel's discussion 'Another Neocate question'
Hi edel, With the reflux - yes, it sounds like your son is ready for either an increase in the ranitidine or a move towards a PPI. You could also try thickening the milk with carobel or gaviscon to help reduce the regurgitation. Regarding the…

Another Neocate question

Hi Ladies. Firstly can I say this forum is a lifesaver for those like myself starting out on a reflux/intolerance journey so thanks for that.  We have been on neocate 3 weeks now. The screaming at the bottle has stopped and the excema did settle initially. He only takes 4 oz max of neocate but is getting over 20oz most days so I am not too concerned about that. The screaming at the bottle has stopped but he still fusses alot and feeding is still hard work taking an hour for 4 oz .  He has in…See More
