Hi all :) Thomas started omeprazole two days ago and we were told to stop ranitidine - wish we never had despite not working at all well and making him constipated, it was better than nothing! Finally got call back from my very busy paed who advised reinstate ranitidine for seven days to give omeprazole chance to get in his system - fustrated now as trapped wind and constipation is making the reflux worse. Thanks for your message, we live in Heath Park so not far from you! Our second son is now two years old and had silent reflux as a baby. He was diagnosed with dairy and soya intolerances at 10 months old. He is also under Frimley Childrens Centre and the dietician at FPH. It's been a tough two years! I hope you are getting the support you need and dare I say it, some sleep?!

Looking back I'm really not sure that the gaviscon, ranitidine and domperidone that our little man was on made any improvement to his reflux. It was the change of milk to Neocate and taking dairy and soya out of his diet that made life start to improve (very slowly!). We also had to keep food and sleep diaries. He had a blood tests at 18 months old to check for allergies but they came back negative. However he is definately still intolerant to dairy and soya.

He was on SMA LF until we discovered that its the cows milk protein he is intolerant to. We tried Nutramigen for two weeks but he just wouldn't drink it! He was about 10 months old before he started on Neocate and he still only had a couple of ounces each time. We didn't try omeprazole. He now has calcium enriched Oatly on his cereal. How are you doing?
