Not been on here for a long time...

Hi all, I used to post on here about a year ago about my dd emma - she had silent reflux and we had terrible times with it. But by 15/16 months she finally grew out of it, and has been med free for about 6 months now. BUT - i now think my 7 year old son has it. Is it possible for it to appear at this age?? he has (I think !) lots of reflux symptoms - persistant cough, loss of appetite, sore tummy and says it hurts on his windpipe (acid?). I am convinced he had it as a baby but as a first time…See More

Christine, I hope you feel better having written it all down. Having a refluxy baby is one of the most horrible things I have ever been through as well, and like you I'm convinced my ds had it as a baby too (he's 6 now), and when I…

Marnie Banks replied to Elizabeth Stokes's discussion 'Ranitidine & Gaviscon'
Hiya, You shouldn't need to put Gaviscon in the SMA Staydown as it's so thick anyway, and with the gaviscon in it your lo will probably struggle to suck it thru the teat!! Try giving him the Gaviscon on a spoon before a feed instead. And…

Marnie Banks replied to Elizabeth Stokes's discussion 'SMA staydown - do you use infant gaviscon with it as well???'
Hiya, No, don't add Gaviscon to it!! it is really thick on its own - do you have next size teats for your bottles, as it can be too thick for the small ones. I only used it for a few months then went back to normal formula, and dd has been…

Hiya, i was told that giving them too close together can cause constipation. I give the ranitidine as soon as she gets up, then the domperidone at least 20 min before each meal (any closer and it doesnt work) and then the Ranitidine just before…

Reflux and dummies-time to get rid???

Hi girls, Emma has had a dummy since about 3 months old - she was 1 year 2 weeks ago.Various drs and hvs have told me that dummies can help with the reflux - something to do with the saliva helping - so i've let her have it much longer than ds (gone by 7 months). But last night was an awful night. She was up every hour all night. I know it wasn't her reflux playing up as all she wanted was her dummy and a cuddle. No other signs of teething or illness causing it, which leads me to believe she's…See More
