I noticed that you have been told that it takes 1 to 4 weeks to get ompeprazole suspension. My boys are both on the suspension, the chemist has to order it "on special", no body would stock it as the shelf life is sometimes as short as a month. It is tablets that are dissolved in sodium bicarb and often a flavour added(although i've tasted it and it is vile!) I give it by siringing at the same time as the bottle in the side of their mouth and they take it fine now, first few times not so happy. But their milk is nutramigen aa and is also quite bitter so perhaps that's why they are ok with it. If you are breast feeding or expressing your little one may not like the taste, as breast milk is nice and sweet. It takes my pharmacist about 2 to 3 days from getting the script to having it in shop. If you go to a local pharmacist and have a chat you might find them sympathetic like mine. The doc has to write the script for it in this form as well and it is very expensive for the nhs. But it may be worth a try for you. I know some people have been told to give omep at a different time from the milk to make it more effective, but my pead said it is ok to give with the milk and really it is the only way for us.
Hope you find some help, it's so hard to get out and sort out all these different meds while trying just to get through the day sometimes. I've been lucky that my mother in law works at the doctors and it helps so much trying to sort all the stuff out.

I have just been looking at the website, Crying over spilt milk. It has advice on omeprazole. From what I can gather Omep in tablet or granule form is absorbed better on an empty tum or mixed with a little fruit juice/puree or a teaspoon of fruit yoghurt. The acid makes it work better. BUT the omep suspension works better when given before or with milk, the alkaline makes it work better.
