"The bottom of the dose range is normally actually 0.7mg/kg, but she's having less than that at present so def scope to ask for an increase. Can I just dbl check that the label says 5 mg in 5ml, not 5g?"

"The suspension label is 5g in 5ml. So I think that means she is having 2.5g per day.  She's had 2oz bottles today before stopping and after her burp she wont take any more, she just arches back and turns her head away.   But thanks…"

Jenny Rawling replied to Lela's discussion Omeprazole Question - correct doses???
"She's just over 5kg. The dose of omep is 1-3mg/kg so she could have between 5 and 15mg. I'm not entirely clear whether you mean you are giving a volume equivalent to 2.5mg (milligrams) of omeprazole, or if you are giving 2.5mls…"

Omeprazole Question - correct doses???

Hi allI'm on my second child with reflux and thought I had it all clear. My little one is 12 weeks old and weights around 11 1/2 lbs. She is on 2.5mg once a day of omeprazole suspension. She is no longer crying, vomiting or arching but over the last week she has had what I can only describe as a 'frog in her throat'. In the last few days her feeds have dropped from 4-5oz every 4 ish hours to 2 - 3 oz at every bottle.  Could it be her dose is no longer high enough or just that she is under the…See More

"Hi Our son is back on 7.5mg once a day, from about 4 before christmas. We noticed a gradual worsening after about a week so he's back on 7.5 now and for the last 3 nights he has been fine. I'm not going to look at reducing it for another…"

"He is 14 months old now. He went onto ranitadene at 6 months, and we cut out the dairy at the same time. We had an improvement for about 2 weeks and a relapse, so then he went onto omeprazole once a day, and finally at 8 months old we got our…"

"We are in the same position. I've tried making a follow up appointment twice and get told he's get the prescription for 1 year, so I have another 5 months before I need a review. In the mean time, we have done elimination tests and found…"

"Our omeprazole tablets come in 15mg, we used to give 10, then 7.5, now 4 ish (breaking about a 1/3 off). Its brand name is Lansoprazole. Perhaps this would suit? By the time a little is left in the syringe your little one would take 14mg? And we…"

Lela replied to hayles's discussion Help is it reflux or just a fussy baby ???
"Hi I just wanted to agree with what some of the other mums are saying. Sounds all to familiar. And just to say, you are not alone with the health professionals reaction. Try taking a print out of silent reflux symptoms with you to the doctor, ask to…"

Has anyone already weaned their child off Nutramigen?

Hi there My little one is almost 14 months old. He's been doing very well on Omeprozol, Gaviscon and Nutramigen AA for the last 8 months. He has silent reflux and cows milk protein intolerance. About 2 months ago, after an unsuccessful attempt at introducing cows milk into his food, we introduced goats milk into his diet through his food instead and he took to it very well.  None of the reflux symptoms came back and his skin stayed clear (we then figured cows milk is the trigger for his reflux…See More
