Hi there, good to hear from you,
Nathan is 14 wks today and is on a hypoallergenic prescription milk called Neocate although I still keep experimenting with different types to try and find a solution! He is also on Gaviscon, ranitidine and domperidone - none of which do any good. We are not sure whether he has a milk allergy as well as reflux hence the milk. We spent a couple of nights at medway hospital the other week as he couldn't keep anything down and isn't putting on enough weight.
It's horrible isn't it? I've been really struggling and spend most of my time trying t keep up with the washing!

Hi Julie,
Sorry it's taken a while for me to reply but I've been a bit knackered. I also have a 4yr old and he has taken to waking up at 5 o'clock in the morning for some strange reason. Just what I need with an unpredictable baby too! Is Luke your first?

I did take Nathan to an osteopath, he had 3 sessions but it didn't seem to be making any difference. We were due the next one when we ended up at medway hospital so I had to cancel it and I haven't bothered making another appointment. Hope you have more luck.

I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel with Nathan, for the last few days he has been like a different baby. He used to want comforting continually but now seems a lot happier and will sit in his chair and smile and laugh. It's lovely to see. I'm not sure if it is the medication making a difference or whether it is just him growing and being more alert. He is still being sick though but it is easier to cope with if it is not accompanied by all the screaming and I get time to do the washing!

We have another appointment at Medway on Monday. I'm not really expecting them to do much though. Think I am going to have to think about weaning soon (the peadiatrician said we should at 11wks!!!), I am trying to hold out until 4 months though.
I do all the positioning advice with Nathan, hold him upright after feeds, tilt his bed & try to only change him before feeds. Sometimes it is more successful than others. Strangely Nathan has always been best at night. He drinks his last feed and goes straight to sleep and keeps it down fine, it's when he wakes up we get the choking but by then his stomach is empty so he is just choking on stomach acid, poor mite.
How's things going with you?

Hi Julie.
We have had quite a good day today!! My son had 2oz when he woke up this morning (which wasn't a good start) but then he ate all of his porridge (which had 3oz in). He then ate 2/3 of a jar of veg and 1/2 a jar of fruit for lunch and 3 cubes of veg and more fruit for tea. Before bed he had a whopping 8oz (he's never drank this much milk before) so I am feeling a bit happier. He has had a total of 13 oz today, which is a bit better than the 9 he was having. I am still waiting to see the dietician!!! He was crying a bit today though. This could be down to teething, as he is dribbling an awful lot. Hope you have had a good day.

Hi

Glad you've had a good day. We have as well. He has a total of 14oz, so I am quite pleased with that. He also had his 3 meals and wasn't sick, so a good day all round.
Hope you have a good night!!
xxx
