Rory Update

Just to update on whats going on with us.

Rory is now 13 months old, still on dairy free diet, still on omeprazole and domperidone. He is doing so much better but we're still not there completely. He still has trouble swallowing very thick or lumpy food and is still not eating many finger foods. We are also finding that if he laughs (which is actually does now!!!) that it gives him hiccups(?) and if he laughs too much he seems to choke like he used to do ALL the time. very strange has… Continue

Doctor Contradictions and when will it end!?

Haven't been on for a while, we went away at the weekend visiting family, lovely weekend but the usual stresses followed us down, adding to them the fact rory was keeping everyone awake both nights, i know its not his fault but you cant help feeling guilty that its disrupting them. Having said that, it was lovely to be away from home!

We've been to the docs again today and he has ANOTHER ear infection in both ears again! he on another dose of anti-b's.

Now. I'm… Continue

scary weekend.. and it continues!

Oh what a dreadful weekend!

My friend was having a murder mystery party on saturday night and my mum was going to have the little ones to stay at hers overnight (in the hope that ill have a good nights sleep after the dinner!)

We got up sat morning and everything seemed ok. Rory had been up for a good few hours screaming in the night with the refluxing (yup, normal there then) but looking back now it continued quietly after the screaming for longer than it normally… Continue

Doctor troubles still!

I have no idea if i am alone having this problem but from what i have read on the site so far it's quite common!

My youngest Rory is 10 months old now and we recently had our 4th appointment at the hosp with the paed. unfortunately it was with the doc that i saw the first time i went, who told me that he would "grow out of it"

After seeing another doc he was put back on Ranithidine and now we have to follow a dairy free diet. (we have allergies in family) unfortunately this isnt… Continue

Hi yes there is an end in sight!! eventually!
Charlie struggled with anything that went into his mouth even when swimming if he swallowed the tiniest amount of water he would really choke but i think by 2 he was pretty much over it. He never had any meds all we were aver given was gaviscon which didn't do a great deal for him to be honest didin't really get any help ith him at all they did do some tests when he was very tiny - camera down his throat and ph tests but all they ever resulted in was - oh its just reflux have some gaviscon!

just read your scarey weekend - isn't it terrifying, i remember Charlie used to always go floppy and to this day it is still the most heart stopping frighteningest experience i have ever been through.

We have had a bad few days with our little one Brooke but seems to be ok again now my mum laid her in her cot at her house for 10 mins (the cot isn't propped up) so she was laid flat and im sure that must be what started it all off again and for the following three days she had really bad reflux she as fussy with every bottle and then screamed and screamed, she is different to Charlie i think where she is bigger and stronger she seems to fight it and instead of going all faint and floppy she is the opposite she screams and panics so much she is bright red and then her breathing goes all funny and she really struggles to get a breath and she just looks at us desperately with her eyes bulging its all very traumatic but as soon as its over she gives us a huge smile again bless her heart. But she us constantly being sick at the moment she seems to go a few days even a week ith nothing and then suddenly she has a bad time again.

Oh well she is happy at the moment so cant complain! Good luck with your little one and yes there is an end to it all eventually!

(sorry to have gone on a tad!!) x
