Hi Ali, I just read your message, you poor thing... I know exactly how you feel, sitting in your kitchen in the early hours of the morning, i have to do the same as my daughter only settles with the sound of the extractor fan... My daughter Isabelle is now 10wks, and has been grumpy and unhappy from day 1, i breastfed for 6wks, but she would not settle in between feeds & when she wasn't screaming she was vomiting... I had to give up breastfeeding, i was so exhausted... Anyway took her to docs, gave gaviscon which did nothing but make it worse, ended up at the hospital for the wkend, she is now on ranitideen, but she is still bad, im at the clinic every week but get no help, everyone just says she is a colicy baby, but she is in so much pain still, she is always stiff, kicks her legs out, throws her body around and screams so loudly... we can never go out, i hate all the looks... We are seeing the consultant at the hospital in a few weeks, but i want to take her back sooner, but i feel so bad, there are children that are really sick there who need more help, all this is is a little tummyache, but i cant stand her being in so much pain.. As she is my first, everyone keeps telling me this is what babies are like, but i was actually a nanny and maternity nurse for 8yrs before i had her, so i know there is something wrong.. It so frustrating, we get no help. I have done everything possible to help her, raising her bed, using the haberman special needs bottles, we see a cranial osteopath once a week. This week i purchased a natures nest hammock for her, still waiting for it to arrive, but it probably wont make much difference, she only likes to sleep on us or in our bed... As im writing this Isabelle is my arms screaming, this is the worst time of day. She never sleeps til after her 10.30pm feed. I live in Sandbach if you ever wanted to meet up.
