Would be good to hear from anyone in the Nottingham area, and also have info of a reflux and milk allergy/intolerances support group which is starting up that you may be interested in.

Hey Kathryn,

Am in the Birmingham area sorry. Would be good to hear about your support group though. Is it an online support group?
Are you related to Nick Shaw?

Hi Kathryn,

I have a son who is almost 7 months old and would love to have details of the support group. thank you
Hi to both of you,
The support group is being ran by my local health centre and starts at the end of april.
Not sure it will be any use to you depending on where you live, i know you say you are in birmingham hannah.
It something that should be set up in all areas there seems so many of us with babies with reflux and/or milk allergies that it would be good to meet up.

Sorry Kathryn, I haven't been on for a while - which health centre is it at?

Hi

I've only just joined the site but would be interested in meeting up in the Nottingham area.

Hi Kathryn, I'm Emma and I live in Nottingham. my son has SILENT REFLUX and is Milk protein intolerant. It's been a really tough 6 months with him and have struggled with support. My HV's haven't been very helpful at all. At times it's felt like I've had to educate them

I would be so so so interested in the group and any info!!!!!

Hi Emma,

Sorry i haven't been on here for a long time now so only just got round to replying to you.

The group was set up in the village where i live and was ran by the health visitors at my local surgery because of the amount of babies they were seeing with reflux and milk allergy i think it was only for people registered at the surgery but not even sure it is still going.

Sorry to hear your health visitors haven't been very helpful i think i have been very lucky with mine i know a lot of people on here have struggled with lack of help and support.

My baby is 14 months now and from birth suffered with silent reflux and has milk protein allergy she has been free from reflux since she was approximately 6 mnths old and although she still has the allergy and is completely dairy free she is 100% better. I find it hard now to remember how bad things were in the first 6 months of her life but i know that it is a very difficult thing to cope with for yourself as a mum watching your baby suffer and for the whole family.

If i can help you in anyway feel free to chat anytime as i know how hard it can be and sometimes just talking to someone who knows what reflux is like can help  xx
