LittleRefluxers

My little girl is 21months and were told by the hospital that she would growe out of it by 1year roughly. However her reflux syptoms have developed into a cough instead, we control it with mediciation, but does anyone know if children with reflux grow out of the coughs or is that it will she always have it?

Hi Georgina
Can't help answer your question but thought I'd message to say you are not alone! My elder daughter is now 25 months old, and no longer vomits but she has a permanent cough! She's had chest infections pretty much every month since 6 months old and had so many courses of antibiotics and steroids that I despair. Paediatrician has given her inhalers for asthma but I'm really not convinced she has it and they certainly don't help ward of chest infections - she has bronchitis at the moment! I'd love to know that this IS something she will grow out of!
Really sorry to hear that Sarah as it is distressing for both the child and the parent. I too would love to know if there is a connection and what age they grow out of it!
