Hi
I live in Basingstoke and my son was diagnosed with reflux at three weeks old ( he is now 11 months). He is still on high doses of all available medication but is only now it seems to help. He still objects to drinking very much and feeding still a battle. he is also on a cows milk protein and soya free diet, therefore on a special formula called Neocate. It has been a huge emotional rollercoaster and I really feel like I have missed out so much 'quality time' with my son and am only just starting to enjoy being a Mummy.

Hi,
My little boy Joseph is 5 weeks old and started with reflux a couple of weeks ago. He has most of the symptoms discribed on refluxUK! and is now on gaviscon and ranitadine, it is helping a little bit i think, but he is still constantly sick! and like Tasche I havnt had the courage to poke my nose out the door yet either, I would love to chat with anyone else, just to know that your not alone is great!

Hi,
I live in Basingstoke, with my husband and our four children (aged 6,5,2 and 3 months). Our two year old daughter has been clear of reflux since she was 10 months ish, but my 3 month old son Joseph is in the throws of it now. Going back to work next Thursday and am dreading it...
All the best to all those other stressed Hampshire Mum's & Dad's out there.

Hi

Im Sarah and I live in Portsmouth with my other half, an 11 year old daughter, a 15 month old son and a 3 month old son.

Both my boys have had reflux - although the 15 month old seems to have finally grown out of it (thank goodness). I have noticed that my 3 month old seems to be suffering far worse than his brother and is already on omeprazol, nutramigen and gaviscon. He is far sickier than his brother was and has mastered the art of projectile vomiting through his nose :-(

If anyone has any sure fire ways of coping I would love to hear them. I thought that I would be able to cope as we have been through it before - but I am finding it so much more difficult this time.

Thanks for reading
Sarah

Hi all.

My first daughter was a master of vomitting and now after having my second child diagnosed with silent reflux and finding your website have I realised that my first child was clearly suffering too! Thank fully she is a healthy happy toddler now.

I however, against advice gave my daughter solids (baby rice and puree fruit and veg) at 6 weeks. I gave her a small amount of solids before each feed and then topped her up with milk. It was like a little miracle and although we did have the odd episode it wasn't every feed with both of us drenched through.

Perhaps this sounds a bit premature but with my second daughter I have waited until 12 weeks and wish I'd weaned sooner. Our Paediatrician has also advised that we early wean.

Has anyone else had success?

Lewis was weaned at 14 weeks and although it didn't stop the sickness altogether it did help we managed to get him on an anti reflux milk which helped alot and i would recomend it to anyone. lewis is now 21 months and has been fine for the lase few months there was times when i wish i hadn't had children though it was very hard work but worth it in the end.

Hi there Hampshire reflux team!
Am so pleased to have located this site, as have felt so isolated - have Poppy, my only baby, who is now 23 weeks old, diagnosed with GORD at 9 weeks due to blood in vomit, sickness and screamings. Started with ranitidine and gaviscon which helped a little for just under 2 months until symptoms became unbearable again and she started to lose weight. Have now had to move to Pepti Junior milk (no lactose and casien protein broken down) with Carobel thickener and Lansoprazole (PPI medication). Feeding is an absolute nightmare and only around every 5 hours so volume intake is a problem. Poppy did lose weight one week but has managed to gain 3 onzes in last two weeks, but have to say that life is extremely hard and even the thought that her condition may well last until she is walking is filling me with dread. I have tried weaning on and off but the rice seems to make her much more windy and miserable am leaving it for another week or so. Please let me know if anyone knows a good Peadiatrician specialising in this condition either private or nhs. We are under Southampton hospital currently but located right near the border of Dorset. Also am seeking advice on bottles - I have used Avent up to now, but have purchased Dr Brown and a Podee bottle as alternatives but just trying to work out what teats to use with a thickened formula. If anyone has any experience of these alternative bottles and teats using a thickened formula, please do let me know.

I look forward to hearing from you, and thank you for reading my first comment to the site, Best wishes, joanne

Hi all

My DS is 4 weeks tomorrow - but I am convinced he has silent reflux - he arches his back, screams during feeding and when brings up wind and rarely settles. He has been on infant gaviscon for a week or so and I am using Dr Brown bottles - does anyone know what teat I should be using with these as he is taking ages to drink his milk. He is also very constipated - so I am using Aptamil comfort milk which is also thicker - anyone been in my situation. I am pulling my hair out with worry that he is now getting enough and what is best to do! Help

Many thanks

Amy
