LittleRefluxers

Hi, we're from Paisley (just outside Glasgow!) and wondered if anyone anywhere in Scotland has had any joy from the NHS? We've had a total horror story (wrong dosages, GP lying to us, ignoring us) and want to find out how other people have got on. I'd especially like to know if anyone has managed to get liquid omeprazole prescibed? I'm told it doesn't exist, which is obviously rubbish looking elsewhere on this site. Can anyone help? Also does anyone know of any real-life groups we can physically go to when we're at our wits end in the area?

Hi,

Its in Possil, next to the big Chinese Suermarket in a row of other outlets. Think its called 'the point' maybe not that central to us??? Annabel x
Hi all,

I'm up for meeting up, maybe on afternoon of Saturday 3rd April? I've no idea where in Possil this place is or how to get there though. I live in Linwood and don't drive though so if anyone can suggest how to get there by public transport I'd be really grateful!

Hope we can manage!

Love, Marion.
HI Marion, I no idea how to getthere by public transport, I think if Linwood is best for you then maybe we should stick to that. I drive but will need directions ;-)

That would really help me out, to be honest, but I don't want to be awkward. It's just that my mum, who has a car, is on her holiday that week so I don't have the option of begging a lift! I'm awesome at directions though, if it's any help :)
great, lets try to organise everyone for Linwood, and ill await directions. I may get my partner to drive and drop us off and he will prob enjoy going to look at new cars (in his dreams ;-) ) looking forward to meeting up A x
Hey everyone in Scotland (well, sort of - I'm not that ambitious!)

The plan would appear to be that we meet up on Saturday 3 April, at about 1pm at the Big Adventure, Linwood . Their website is here.

Not sure about everyone else but I'm going to say mums / dads / grans etc. welcome because babies are hard work and we might want a helper each or so.

By car:
From Glasgow or the East, take the M8 West (towards Greenock), until the exit Signposted for Irvine / Linwood, which is Junction 29 for the A737 (dual carriageway). Then take the exit for Linwood, which will bring you to a roundabout. Take the fourth exit (right), which takes you into Linwood. Take the second on the right. (You're turning in the right place if you have a space to wait in while you give way. You're turning too early if the road is tiny and you're holding traffic up while you wait. You're turning too late if you're right at the petrol station.) The Big Adventure is on the right hand side of this road and is a big light building that looks like a warehouse with a "Big Adventure" sign on it. To get into the car park, turn right just past the building, and the car park entrances are on the right hand side. The second entrance takes you behind the building, which is where the door to get in is.

By public transport:
From Glasgow, there are express (motorway) buses, which leave from stance 8 at Buchanan Bus Station. They are the First or McGills X6 and X7 (sometimes X6/7A). They will bring you off the motorway as above and all buses into Linwood stop right opposite the Big Adventure. The driver will know where it is. You can also get an Arriva 17A (not 17) but I'm not sure where in Glasgow it leaves from. It goes via Paisley. You can get a First number 9 bus, which goes from Drumchapel, through the city centre, along Paisley Road West, Paisley and then Linwood. It's a VERY long journey on a number 9 though. Alternatively, you can get a train to Paisley Gilmour Street and get any Linwood bus. I can help with where the bus stop is to wait at etc. if anyone wants help with this - just message and ask.

I hope this isn't too complicated sounding, but just in case, there is a map
View Larger Map" target="_blank">here or you can get in touch to ask for better directions. Hope to see a few people there.

Love,

Marion x
Count me in on the next one ladies - i'll be getting some well needed R & R at my Mum's in England by the 3rd (she's finally home after 6 months and man am I happy!) I think it would be great to meet up and have a good chat and swap ideas etc so shame i'm missing it but be there for the next one!!
hi, sorry for very late post but my 3 yr old has a horrid tummy bug, i thought he would be better but afraid not so. My partner is also working at 1pm today so there is no way I can make today. So sorry I am letting you all down-.-

Hey, no probs. There's loads of that going round just now, from what I hear. Sorry you couldn't come. We went anyway and it was fun but a bit manic - someone must have let slip that the Easter Bunny was coming to visit today!!! Hope the wee one is feeling better soon x
i am sorry i missed it, were there many other reflux mummys? Fraser has picked up a bit but still only eating pringles. Hope Robbie doesnt get it!!! I hope we can re schedule?

A x
To be honest, I didn't even look for any because only you and Kerrie replied to say you couldn't come and nobody else had said they would be there. We really should organise something for another time though because it'll be fun. Even if we all bring a mate with us and that way nobody feels silly finding people there to talk to (not that I suffer from that particular problem!). Hope the wee ones are doing ok x
yes i def wantto meet, funnily enough I have a pal whos baby has silent R and my sister wee one we think has it also. Looks like our little group is getting bigger. Do u know anything that liks Reflux to Forcep delivery just out of interest? Lets c whe Kerrie can meet and we will aim for same place, A x
