LittleRefluxers

Hi

I have a 5 month daughter and believe she has silent reflux. She constantly screams in pain whilst arching her back with her arms being thrown in the air, arches her back when feeding, kicks her legs in and out and goes very red in the face. I can also hear gulping sounds and she sometimes has a little cough

She has been on Omeprazole for over a month, Domperidome and since yesterday Ratadine too, but nothing seems to be working. I am at my wits end and so worried about her.

I was told by the consultant that it could be a milk alergy, so she has been on Neocate LCP for 2 weeks now, and actually feel that she has been worse since being on this milk!

I have even taken her to cranial sacral therapy as I had heard so many good things about them, but feel she has also been worse since then!

She has had a tummy scan and apparently all is ok and where she also holds her head when screaming, I am now waiting for a brain scan!

I am so worried and just do not know what to do

Any ideas?

Hi Eliane,
My names Nikki and im from Upminster in Essex, not to far from you.
......Oh my heart goes out to you with your little one.
My Harrison is 2yrs old now and still has problems sometimes..........but it does get better.

With regards to medication, H was on all the above to untill we made an appointment with a specialist at Holy House Dr Emma Deverux, shes soo lovely and did get H on the right combi of meds and we did see a improvement quickly!! he was also put on neocate b,coz in most reflux babies it comes hand in hand that they have probs with the milk proteins, the gut has probs breaking them down. ie milk protein intolerence!! ( not dairy)

We had a E.D.G scope done and a barium meal which showed H reflux striaght away.!!
They aslo wanted to do a P.H study but they had their proof we thought, why put him through anymore.

This far on now, H is off all meds and is ok, we do still have bad times with it, like now his on a flair up......his been up most of the night and im shattered !!! But it does get better hun i promise.

if you want to chat, email me as im not on here alot now.

Hi my daughter is 11 weeks n has a ph study next week but I have been told she is lactose intollerant and has silent reflux, my consultant is excellent and explained to me domperidone is for sickness and ranitidine is for reflux but is the weakest drug, omeprazole is next and then lanzoprazole the strongest, my little one is on lanzoprazole and has been so much better since then, u may want to ask your doc for the stronger drug? she is also on nutramigen aa formula milk for the intollerance. I completely understand how u feel n u seem to have been suffering longer. I'm in pitsea so not far from u either and would welcome the chance to talk to others in the same situation! :)
