I am originally from Bristol but live in Weston-super-Mare. Rebecca was in Bristol Childrens Hospital for 4 days when they diagnosed her reflux. She is now 20wks old (on Wed 30/7/08). Hello to all of the Bristol Group.

Hi everyone, my names Lucy I've just joined, I'm mum to Finley who is 9 months old. My partner and I have had so many problems trying to get him help/a referral/ the right medication etc that we ended up paying to see a private consultant to make the GP listen. Finley has been really suffering with reflux for so long its nice to find other people out there who will understand. Does anyone in this group ever meet up? as all other mums I have met don't really understand how hard it is living with a reflux baby! Lucy

hi i havent been on site for a while. my first daughter was a refluxer due to milk intolerance, now outgrown (2 yr and 5 m) ! :) just hoping daughter number 2 doesnt have it! (10 weeks but 6 weeks prem)
dont know if anyone meets up but would be happy to have a coffee or something at the mall or in town. i remember how awful reflux was and how lonely i felt surrounded by other mums who didnt understand.

Hi Jenny and Sim,

Thanks for your replies. Its also nice to know that there are other mums in the area living the reflux nightmare! Finley symptoms have been getting worse again recently.. the worst part (apart from feeling helpless seeing him suffer) is the lack of sleep... he is such a bad napper and wakes up constantly at night... we end up both so tired i end up trapped in all day as hes so overtired trying to get him to sleep! Do you have trouble getting your little ones to sleep well? Jenny did you have any luck getting a referral? we finally got our GP to agree then found out the wait was 3 months so we paid to see someone privately as we felt we could not wait that long.. I can give you his details if you wanted them we got an appointment within a week.. he's based up in Clifton. Lucy x
