LittleRefluxers

I have started weaning Daisy, now she is 6 months old, her doctor advised me to start later rather than sooner!. Her reflux was improving, she stopped spiltting up feeds, but now she is having serve reflux attacks at least twice a week and I am reluctant to introduce a third meal for her.
Does anyone have any advice on what foods I can introduce to Daisy. I have completely cut out pure fruits as she had a terrible attack on Christmas eve which lasted 2 hours and when she woke up it continued for another two hours.
She is currently eating heniz 'mum's own' solids as I ditched Hipp after her Christmas eve attack and she started to refuse Hipp anyway.
I will be eternally grateful for any advice.

My son was really good with weaning so I am not sure I can really offer any advice. It is a hassle but I always made my own stuff where possible for the first few months, just so I knew exactly what was in them and that way it is also easier to keep the food more bland - eg - just carrot, or just sweet potato so you can more easily eliminate food which is causign her pain? Hope it gets better Mx
Thanks Michelle.
I started Daisy on Hipp carrot and potatoe and then apple but she still had attacks!. So thought I better go for soilds that are not so pure hoping that the taste etc would not be so strong!. I seeing the doctor this week hopfully she will be able to offer my advice too.

Hi Michelle & Daisy,

It's a tough one - I've been through it and now at 10 months old - 3 meals a day - loads of sick though!!

We found the Heinz Mum's Own fantastic once we'd got onto 2 meals a day. For very early weaning days we put loads of baby rice in everything. It was so so boring, but really helped to keep things calmer in the tummy. An ideal first vegetable is a sweet potato or pumpkin. Root veggies mixed with rice seem to have a calmer effect, perhaps because they are starchy?

Fruit and Milk has never really sat well with me so I avoided all fruits until 8 months and even now we only have bananas and a few grapes/sultanas.

To help pinpoint a possible offending food, take your time and spread out introductions no shorter than every 4 days.
What works for some doesn't for others!!
Thanks Rachel

Daisy is now on two meals a day from Heniz 'Mum's Own' and we do not seem to have many harrowing attacks. I have totally avoided giving her fruit for nearly a week now and she seems fine, only time will tell!.
I am worried about her not having fruit in her diet, but it is not fair for her to have repeative attacks.

Thank you for the advice

Lisa.
Hi There
i would avoid all packaged baby food, even if they are organic, pure etc etc. It's still all processed food and i found that with my little boy it made his stomach acid worse. I will use them if i am out and about (though that is very rare nowadays! its that bad!) but otherwise i puree my own and freeze it. More work and more hassle but he seems to digest it and make it stay down.
