LittleRefluxers

Just wanted to give you all some hope

My little girl was born in March 09 and was a refluxer from 2 weeks - silent reflux - lots of screaming and we weaned at 12 weeks on advice of paed as she was losing weight - she hardly drank any milk and was on calcium supplements etc etc medication was ranitidine, domperidone and gaviscon with carobel - I thought I would never get through it

We are now reflux free and off all meds - she is nearly 1 year old and she has been zero meds for over a month now

Just wanted to let you know it does get better and you will get there - no matter how hopeless it feels

Love you guys xxx

It's great to hear that you are doing well, I have been thinking about you and wondering how you were going, just wondered if you could let me know how you reduced your meds and which ones first as we are getting close to that stage but our paed is a bit useless and just said to stop them if he improved but I am sure we are supposed to do it gradually. My lo is on Gaviscon and Omeprazole.

Thanks

Hi Babe

Well we just stopped the Gaviscon as I am convinced it never did any good and we had no issues with that

Once it all started getting better we were on ranitidine and we just cut it back and back and back till we were only giving a little bit then stopped it - to bo honest we probably could have stopped it early but we were scared!!

Not spoken in ages - stay in touch xx
Hi ya Victoria/
Great, always nice to here a good story (even if I am a little jellous ha, ha ,ha). My daughter is 19 months old and is still on Gaviscon advanced liquid 2ml daily and Omeprazole 2.5ml daily, (and reducing).
Can I just ask, does your daughter ever still reflux ??????? and how do you deal with it....
How do you know she no longer needs the meds, is there no symptoms left at all. Im just worried about stopping the meds all together and going backwards. She still refluxes and occationally winges, think she gets little bit heart burn still, but because she is that much older copes with it herself alot.... (guess im just scared).
My little girl only refluxes now when she is teething and the pain relief for the teeth helps with that - we had main issues regarding lack of milk but since she went onto follow on milk she loves her milk now - its much sweeter!!

I am so pleased we are over the worst
I am so happy everything has settled down now. It must be great to be meds-free. You were a comfort to me way back when so wish you all the very best. By the way are you still broody?!
