Very long story short/
Hi guys my daughter is now 19 months old, diagnosed with server silent reflux as 5 weeks old. had breathing problems due to acid, bein in and out of hospital. Tests after tests after tests.
Dairy intolarent 14 months Celiac at 16 months.
Reflux carmed with the help of meds around 13 months, but still takes a little Omeprazole daily and Gaviscon. Never very sick just continually spat up in the early months. Things improved greatly once intolarence detected.
However Saturday she began throwing up, and hasn't stopped since. Tuesday was so bad she was admited to hospital, as she was bringing the bile off her tummy and in it was what they call coffe grains (blood).
~Throught the vomiting and the acid she had begin to bleed,,,, (so scared) I have since been told that the tummy and the osphigus (sorry about spelling) will heal over time once she stops being sick and the acid calms back down. We have had to double her reflux meds.
All the hospital said they could do was monitor her for dihydation, see how much is going in and then how much is coming out..... The virual infection she has just has to work its way through her system.
She hasn't eaten for days and is losing weight rappidly, I can see the change in her.
We have gone back to the arching back, not sleeping, screamming in pain, and being a very very clingy little girl. (I know a lot of you will understand this, you love them to death but it does your head in).
I cant understand why they cant give her some antibiotics or some thing to help, she is suffering and its been nearlly a week.
This just goes to show that a refluxer will suffer more than most. I was also told to expect her to bleed when she is ill, it will be some thing now to look out for.
Stupid me thought as she got older and the reflux was controlled it would more or less stop as the mussle grew,,, OH how wrong was I.
Has any on else had problems with longer standing illnesses due to being a refluxer, Im angry, sad, feeling low but most of all Im scared. She is still to little to fight this alone, its hard enough for us adults let alone putting a tot through it.
Sorry if its a bit garbled.
