Firstly I'M SO SORRY for not having been around for a long time but things have suddenly started to move at this end....
Well after missy have this nasty stomach bug and being in hosiptal for just shy of a week she was taken off all her meds apart from the milk, domperidone & losec mups. We thought that we may have cracked it and she started to finally eat and take her milk she also started to gain weight wellll....that didn't last long and she now refuses to eat well saying that she won't take anything which needs chewing in the slightest and the rest can be measured in teaspoons what she takes, her milk consumption has plummeted and she still isn't sleeping through and wakes screaming during the night then lets out a really big burp which is all acid smelling then won't go back to sleep grrr.
Since this really came to a head earlier this week we had an emerg paed appointment with the gasto team and they have given her 3 months to start gaining weight (she 13 months and 17lb) and eating more normally otherwise they are going to intervene and try tube feeding and start running a great long list of tests all seem intrusive and have said she will be in for a min of 10 days whilst they do all this. So as you can guess we are trying everything and willing her to start eating and getting bigger by then. They have also said her reflux is still not under control even with the meds etc so want to take a closer look to see if it is just linked to intolerances/allergies or something more sinister
Before we changed hospitals a couple of months ago the last one said they were going to write to GOSH and see if there was anything they missed (we would have told them if they bother to listen to us). Well since the last hospital assumed we were going there when we told them we were changing they didn't bother sending the letter till the end of April and we had changed at that point to another local hospital. Well we got a letter through from GOSH the day before yesterday and they want to see her the beginning of next month which we weren't expecting tbh.
Finally we may be getting somewhere with missy and maybe get some answers as to what is going on with her, be it physical or not I don't care I just want to know what manner of beast I am fighting so I can beat it.
well on a positive note missy hit the 1 year old with pulling herself up onto very shakey legs and since then she has started to cruise a small bit, she has also started to clap and finally giggle a little bit so we are very happy parents with the little steps she is taking plus when she is giggling her smile is so beautifull and lights up her face aww
I really hope all bubbas are improving and we are sending massive hugs to all those suffering this long and very painfull journey ((((((((((((((((((((((((((()))))))))))))))))))))))))))
Neet & Paige still screaming but giggling as well xx
