I'm sure you already have Dr Shah down at Great Ormond Street, also does private clinics at Viveka in St. John's Wood. I would really like to know the best allergy people - is it possible to gather this too? So many cases of reflux are caused by food allergy/intolerance. Also so many people don't know the difference between food allergy and intolerance and that intolerance is basically allergy of the gut with terrible symptoms, which can't be picked up in blood tests. So important to get that information out there ... my daughter has been diagnosed with eosinophilia at 18 months. Still we are going through hell but could have done lots of things earlier.

Dr lindley at Great Ormond Street is amazing. He also has private clinics.

I can recommend Dr Nicole Fowler, the consultant paediatrician at the West Middlesex University Hospital in Isleworth.  She's very skilled at diagnosing reflux and more importantly is brilliant at spotting allergies.  Lots of (silent) reflux is caused by milk protein allergy which, as Ginny S says below, causes dreadful symptoms.  Her own daughter suffered from this and it explains why,when confronted with a "difficult to feed" baby she understands what you're going through.  

 

Related to this is a paediatric gastroenterologist called Dr Rawat at the Chelsea and Westminster hospital. Google him for his private clinics too.  He treated Dr Fowler's daughter and she now follows his method of treatment when dealing with her own patients, ie uses Lansoprazole.

 

Finally I can recommend Dr Douek at the Portland - again Google for details. He's brisk and decisive, can spot reflux at a thousand paces and is most reassuring.

 

I'm on my second reflux/milk protein allergy baby in 18 months so know how horrendous it is.

Feeding Specialist at Great Ormond Street

You can't contact her directly but will need to be referred.  She is very experienced in feeding disorders and has found that many of these are related to underlying reflux issues.  She met Charlie for 10 minutes before diagnosing CMPI, an issue we had been fighting with for months.

I've found Mike Thomson in Sheffield (and London) to be good. He's the only person in Sheffield who understands Douglas' condition (EGID) and who could recognise that he was reacting my food proteins in breast milk.

We are under Dr Meadows, http://drnigelmeadows.com/ he is on NHS at Royal London and we have seen him private at Nuffield Brentwood, Essex.  Very easy to talk too and v. helpful.
