LittleRefluxers

Well I spoke too soon - after 3 weeks of pretty damn good Olivia is awful again

Hardly taking any milk - this is doing my head in - had her weighed and she has not put enough weight on to increase her meds so god knows what we do now - just wait I guess

Funny though she will take water and juice so at least I can get some fluid into her and she is still taking her solids - just not the milk

Kids huh??

My little one was pretty much the same as soon as she began solid food she quickly started to drop her milk, by six months taking none at all. I was told be HV she should be having this amount of milk daily, but as she would not have it, i use to mix it in with woods and give her loads of yoghurts instead. She was a much happier baby.
Hi there Victoria and Belinda

My LO now 28 weeks old diagnosed with reflux at 9 weeks and is currently on the PPI Lansoprazole and Pepti Junior milk with Carobel thickener. She has been finding it very difficult to make much progress on weaning and is still on just a small amount of solids - however she has been refusing milk feeds point blank and reducing her intake hugely over the last two weeks and is now down to only just over 550ml per day if I persevere with night feeds and "sleep/dream feeding".

The dietician at the hospital said it would not be so much of a problem as long as she takes a minimum of 500ml milk per day along with a vitamin drop supplement and was able to take alot more solid. Currently though, when she has a fromage frais which she now manages, her acid sicks return and she is miserable for the rest of the day, so I am wondering how I am going to ensure she takes enough milk-type foods etc. Like little Olivia - my LO loves to take water and will take anything else other than milk.

Its been a real worry over the last three weeks with her milk intake reducing substantially before she is really able to take much solid - but I will keep trying - onwards and upwards.

She has also started sobbing and wimpering in her sleep in the early morning around 5.30am but will still not take any milk for at least two hours after waking up no matter how long since her previous milk feed which can range from 6 to 8 hours.

Has anyone else had their baby wimpering in their sleep?. I am thinking of asking for more options for pain relief as this cannot be right. I wonder if she is in pain/discomfort whilst her digestive system gets used to breaking down the solids. I guess as she has been on Pepti Junior hypoallergenic milk for so long that her digestive system has not had to do much before.

Any thoughts, please let me know, many thanks!
Best wishes, jo
My little one tried the hypo milks but there was no improvement - we have been reasonably lucky with solids she takes anything from a few spoons to 1/2 a jars worth (depending on her milk intake)

My LO also wakes early and squirms/whimpers - I thought that was part and parcel of reflux tbh btu let me know if you get anywhere with that

My LO also only takes milk 2+ hours after she wakes and we get around 500ml of milk a day into her but she also takes water and squash so I am not worried

Just wish this was a little easier xx
