sleeping on there tummys/nite time coughing

quick introduction my lo has suffered from birth with reflux but it took till she was admitted to hospital at 18wks only weighing 8lbs 13ozs with aspiration puemonia and severe anemia (she was only drinking 10ozs of milk in 24hrs) that she was given ranitdine, domperidone which helps she was dying when she was admitted they were the doctors words she had 85% oxygen at 80% they start cpr also she was effectively starving herself she was in an oxygen tank for 5 days needed 2 courses of antbiotics and steriods to get over it. Aaliyah main problem has been she makes lots of excess thick mucus in her chest & nose which pools in her throat and the she constantly coughs terribly at nite and worse in the mornings i use to have to sit there each morning patting her back to clear it also when this was bad it would make her sick worse i know from this site seems to be very common wth reflux babes but the good news is since she learned to roll she has started to sleep on her tummy and the nite time cough & pooling has gone she still gets a bad chest but it dosent seem to build up at nite so she & me gets more sleep she has also been swapped to omerperzole and has not been sick for weeks she is now 10 months weighs 16lbs even if any one is suffering i hope this helps things do improve i use cry everyday over Aaliyahs refulx and its tested my marriage things arent 100% she still has to take her meds for he reflux and has trouble with her breathing because of the pnuemonia so still has two inhalers three times aday & still takes a vitamin and iron supplement prescribed by her consultant Aaliyah has also been prescribed pirton to help with the mucus in her nose which i gave for a month and have now stopped as the mucus in her nose has gone but they are better.x i hope this gives someone some hope that it will get better in time.xx
