Hi Sarah, I give my daughter her Omeprozole at 10.30am in the morning, after her breakfast has gone down (8am) and before lunch (12am ish).
She has 10mg a time. She is now 21 months old and been on it since 2 months old, Ive always stuck to the same time, as I was told it was best given roughly the same time every day.
we have started two days ago and i do it first thing in the morning. then i change her and play with her, carry her or so for 30 min. hard work.

good luck
Hi there
I just wanted to say, I give Nicole hers after feeds (advised by hospital), the reason for this is not to stress lo out while starving, and also incase they throw up after feeds, Nicole never does but I know that if she does I'm screwed. I also give her half in morning and half at night, as I found it was wearing off as day went on xx
Hi Sarah, I think everyone has their own routine and you can't be very strict where babs concerned. I give Jasmines on an empty stomach (4 hours after feed) and have been attempting to give half hour before feed but usually is 10-15 mins as Jasmine also thinks she is being fed and not happy when milk ceases to arrive. The reason they say give half hour before on empty stomach is so it gets through acidic environment of tummy to intestine. If there is milk in stomach already or it is given with milk the granules will dissolve and become less effective. Also it gives chance for omeprazole to block proton pumps just as they start pumping acid, apparently the stomach doesn't pump acid constantly, only when food in stomach. Anyway sorry about ramble, thats probably not helped at all but I do try to stick to on an empty stomach, it will be different for solution I think, which is what Lara is giving xx
hi there. ds also on 15mg per day and we have fiddled around with times and doses to try and get the best for him so can only suggest that you do the same. initially we were giving 5mg in the morning and 10mg in the evening to try and split the dose as the previous dose he had (10mg) always seemed to wear off halfway through the day. but tbh it was such a faff that i one day decided to give him all 15mg at teatime (ds is 7 months so being weaned) and that made a masive difference. i am guessing that if a dose wears off during the day, its not a high enough dose as at the moment (fingers crossed, touch wood etc etc) the one dose of 15mg at teatime seems to last pretty much until teatime the following day! i was also told that as long as you give at the same time each day it doesn't matter whether its before or after food but i have always given it a little after feeding - long enough to make sure that he wasn't sick from that particular feed iyswim and then i knew that there was no chance of him not having the dose cos he'd been sick!

we always used to syringe it using a dentinox syringe - first we used to mix it wiht a bit of cranberry juice (neither orange or apple were particularly successful!) but once he got used to it, we then gave it to him just plain (dissolved in water tho). but he then went through a phase of spitting it all out so we now mix it with the water to dissovle it and add a couple of teaspoons of those cow and gate fruitapura fruit pots to it and spoon it into him after his tea!! seems to do the job at the moment! but i'm not holding my hopes up just now but its nice to have some medication on a correct dose that seems to do the job its supposed to :-)

good luck xx
