Hello ladies...

Well have had an awful 5 days!!!!

We have had a constantly screaming baby the only time he doesn't cry is the 10 mins he sleeps for. Wont even feed properly, poo has gone green!! .. screamed so much that he is now horse!

Went to A&E tonight as so worried about him.. the doc has up't his ranitidine and put him on dom. Feel like i could cry I'm so worried about him, and also heard so many bad things a bout domperidone that I'm worried about starting him on it. Has anyone had any success stories with it?

I just stopped it after months on it and hasn't made any difference except he seems to sleep slightly better without it. Is he on neocate milk that's what stopped our constant screaming!

Hiya,

I hate domeperidone and used to blame it for everything. My LO has been on it since she was 6 weeks old and is now 8 months. I trialled her off it a little while ago and lo and behold within 2 weeks she was a screaming banshee again, so quickly put her back on it and she settled quickly. At the beginning it took quite a while for it to work ( on ranitidine also). Some people do have bad expereinces with it and some good. It hinders some babies and helps some. I am still convinced it makes my lo not sleep too good and a bit cranky, but she cant cope without it and is nowhere near as bad whilst on it, My best advice would be to give it a chance and see how it goes, however like Anna said, if he quickly becomes worse then speak to your Paed. It wasnt until about my LO was 4 months that I seen some difference, however her oesaphagus was that inflammed it took a while to heal. After healing is when you see the true effects. Her poo is dark green and always has been and we've just been diagonsed with CMPI and are trialling a hydrolized milk. If he doesnt settle on it and his poo is still green I would maybe ask your Paed about such a milk or maybe omeprazole if the meds dont suit him. Both ranitidine and Domp are weight dependant,so heavier he gets the more he'll need.  Hope he settles for u soon xxx
