Is your LO on Gaviscon? Poppy had terrible constipation and seemed to be in pain when she did manage to go when she was on Gaviscon with her Aptamil milk but since her milk has been changed to Nutramigen along with the Gaviscon the constipation has been ok. Have you any thoughts on what you think might be the problem for your daughter?

Hi Karen

Just to avoid confusion my daughter is called Poppy as well.

Poppy has been diagnosed as milk protein intolerant, silent reflux and and uncoordinated gut. We tried Gaviscon and it didn't do anything. We too are on Nutramigen and I do think this has helped the reflux issue. Today I called our paediatrician and cried and told her I didn't think enough was being done, so we now have a referral to see a specialist. I personnally think that her constipation is caused by her uncoordinated gut and the consultant seems to agree and has suggested we try giving her a small dosage of senna. It is interesting to hear that Gaviscon and Nutramigen works for you and perhaps I will try Gaviscon again, like you when I did try it we too were using Aptamil.
