LittleRefluxers

Hi all, im after any tips on getting bubs to take omeprazole? She is 19 weeks and is on 7 mls omeprazole once a day and 1.7 mls domperidone 3 times a day plus gaviscon and nutramigen milk. She takes the domperidone fine but spits every bit of omeprazole out so her reflux hasnt got a chance of improving. Has anyone tried one of those medicine dummys? i hold a normal dummy in at the same time and tip her back so far shes almost upside down but still i reckon 90% comes out. any tips or advice welcome or do you have the same trouble?Hope you are all having a good day xxx

My daughter is on a 5mg tablets each day. What we do is dissolve it in hot water then suck it up through a small syringe then when she is drinking her bottle we sneakily scoosh it in the side of her mouth, She hardly notices it as she is hungry for her milk. The omaprezole tastes horrible so if we give it any other time she spits it all out.
Hi,
My son was a nightmare taking omeprazole too but (and this wil obviously only apply if you've started/are going to start weaning soon) we now mix it in with his breakfast cereal and he takes it fine. It is quite chalky and gritty, no wonder its a nightmare to get it in them! Would you consider even just giving her 1 or 2 teaspoons of baby rice with it in even if you're not ready to wean her yet? Hope you find a way soon as yes, it won't be much help otherwise!
Hi ya chuck, you can give Omeprazole with jucie or yoghurt, should help hide the taste.
