LittleRefluxers

Hi all was just wondering if any one knows if there is a link between asthma and hay fever?............
I have been told that kids that suffer from asthma can be more pron to hay fever.

Pig has asthma but only very mild, and we dont have to use her inhaler a lot at all, but over the last week she has been sneezing, runny noes, watery eyes.

Is there any truth in this.

I worry about my cats.... but the paed has reassured me that babies usually get skin symptoms (hives) when they have pet allergies... I've still banned them from the house and steam-cleaned all my carpets just in case!

Shit,,,,,, I have a dog and two cats????? I hope my son is not reacting to them.

Would it be normal for an 8 year old (non refluxer)to react to animals after they have been there all his life.

Hi Belinda, I have had cats all my life and been fine. Then after a year living in a cat free zone (uni) I got a new cat and a cat allergy. I got runny nose, itchy eyes and skin, sneezing and then developed asthma and hayfever. So it is possible to suddenly develop pet allergies. But, slowly the allergy has got better unless he scratches me but the hayfever and asthma remain. I hope its not the pets, I would be devastated if it turns out Liam is causing or aggravating Lola's problems. Can you ask for your 8 year old to have a skin prick test?

Hi Susie, thanks for that... My doctor is pretty crap to be onist, so dont think he would say this is needed,he is fine to give him the piriton liquid and im pleased to say that has helped.

I do. One of the things they should test for in his immunology appointment in the next couple of weeks.
