LittleRefluxers

hi my lo is 18 months old & still suffers & needs meds shes on omerprozole & domperidone its greatly improved and controlled on meds but over the last few weeks we have been busy decorating we missed a dose and some of the timing of meds has been slighty different and now she is suffering again thus proving the reflux is only well controlled & shes not growin out of it i was kinda hoping she wouldnt of been effected & maybe she was starting to grow out of it i know most babes grow out of it by 12 months but for some it takes longer just wondered if others lo were /are older refluxers and what your pead says about a time sacle to growing out of it i thought we would be reducing meds by this age so am a little dissapionted dont get me wrong Aaliyah is hardly ever sick anymore an the slient side is only flared up when teething so we lead a normallish life but i hate giving meds everyday and want her to get better she is underweight weighs only 21lbs and suffers from aspirations from the reflux  which caused puemonia last year which she has a wonderfull respiratory nurse who visits our home for check ups & at 18wks when she was finally treated for reflux after weeks of going back to the gp to be told she has a chest infection and colic she only weighed 8lb 130zs so shes doing well compared to then i just want a life without reflux & meds

Kelly/ SNAP, I would love not to have to give any more bloody reflux meds.. My daughter is now 20 months old and is still on 20mg Omeprozole and 10ml Gaviscon advanced liquid.
She was diagnosed at 5 weeks with server silent reflux, after numours times she stopped breathing and turned blue.
Untill about 6 weeks ago, her reflux was plodding along nicely, she was only taking 2ml Gaviscon advanced liquid and 2.5mg Omeprozole a day, sadly she ended up with 10 days of the Norvor virus (sorry about spelling) and then straight on top a fortnight chicken pox. Needless to say her reflux took a really battering and she had her meds increased. I felt a complete failure, like the last 6 months of reducing meds had been a complete waste of time.
I have been told that because she has such a delicate system (dairy intolarent and a /celiac) and then of course the Acid reflux, she will be prone to viruses and infections easier then fit and well kids.
I just try and look at the possitive side, If the meds help then keep giving them. My little one doesnt know any difference. I'll get my dream of med free one day, as im sure you will x
thanks for the reply i just worry she may never grow out it.x
I have felt the same, but been told they can be as old as 5 years before it stops.x
