hi thanks for the reply she started medication on friday but seems to be really bad today worst than before shes been crying all morning can put her down was it like this with your son.
You must not blame yourself, if anything blame the docs and hv for not being as aware of reflux and its symptoms as they should be. My LO is my third child, and wasn't actually dx untill she was around 15 wks. Was fobbed off with loads of excuses like colic, "and just a windy baby" Hopefully your LO will settle a bit now, the meds do help. They don't take the problem away completely but they will help. My LO was like yours screaming from one feed to the next. She used to be worse first feed and last feed at nite. I can remember her crying and screaming from eight in the morning till two in the afternoon. I thought things were never going to get better, but at least now with her med my LO does still become uncomfortable and cry after her food but never for that amount of time. So please don't feel guilty just find out as much as you can about reflux to help you and your baby. If possible educate those who help with her care ie grandparents etc so as that you can have a break, and be safe in the knowledge that when you get your LO back their symptoms have been helped not worsened. For example I had to keep telling my extended family not to lay my LO down after feeding her and not to rock her or let her slump in her lap etc otherwise I would have a break for that few hours and then pay for it big time after she came home. All the best wishes to you and your famly. Natalie x
