hi there

my little boy is on Ranitidine and Carobel, and has worked wonders! I am sure the carobel has made all the difference, he is a different baby, so happy and playful now.

I too agree that Carobel seems to have been forgotten. When i mentioned to my HV and my GP that the Paed prescribed Carobel, they were quite surprised as they said it isnt used much these days! Shame because I think it is brilliant!
I know - both y girls have had reflux and this time round noone would prescribe carobel until I demanded it. No constipation, no yucky chemicals (to add to the ones we already use!). Hear hear for Carobel - spread the word!!
Hi again, Carobel fan here again, are you weaning yet, I cannot see how old your little one is.

If you are, I wonder if you are experiencing the same as me. The Carobel holds the milk down but the Reflux still brings up the solids (pureed at the mo). Even 3-4 hours after the food and milk on top, the milk stays down but the food comes up.

You had any of this? Its almost as if the milk is so heavy and thick now that it sinks below the food so when the Reflux happens, up comes the food.

Hope that makes sense.
Hi there, Stella is 5 months and we have just started to wean her, so not sure yet. I'll keep an eye out and report back! Thanks for the feedback. Our other daughter didn't have any problems so fingers crossed. Hope things get better. cheers Shona
Is Carobel a thickener for food, milk or juice????? Ive never heared of it before. My daughter has been given Thick and easy, whick we put into jucie or water to help her keep it down.
She is 1 year old next month and still uses it
Carobel is a thickener for milk, it helps it stay down. I think its an old fashioned remedy but it works so I'm happy! Its probably the same principle as thick and easy.
