soilds
my daughter is 18 weeks and started having solids about 4 weeks ago, my choice to start her early as i thought it may help with her reflux, but it has not at all really.
she has never taken to them well and urges on every mouthful unless its like water. she has two meals a day only a small amount as she refuses any more. sometimes she makes herself sick as she's taking the food off the spoon she cries and sounds like she makes staining sounds as if she's in pain, arches her back.
i'm really stuck on what to do weather i should stop giving her solids and go back to just milk, i don't want to make things worse for her as we seem to be having more and more bad days at the moment but on the other hand the longer we leave it the harder it will be for her to take to solids. shes on gaviscon and ranitadine 0.6mls 3 times a day.
has anyone else had the same problem with solids and what did you do? or has anyone got any advice on what i should do? i would be very grateful.
we have a follow up with the peds at the end of november so maybe i should wait til then?

Im very lucky my daughter took to it very well, but around the same time she was started on omperzole, and domperidone, which has been a god send for her. Without she returns to a stroppy sicky baby. Perhaps your little one needs a drug review with the gp and may need the meds upped.

does she have an early gag reflex?? would also check the amount of ranitidine. we find if it is not the exact max dose for each oz of weight then the acid monster returns.

Thanks for your replies,
my health visitor is coming tomorrow so i will see what she says but i think i will stop it for a while and try again in a few weeks. only problem is all day today she has screamed and chocked on her bottles and isn't taking much milk.
i may ring her dr tomorrow and ask for her meds to be looked at again. i'm not sure its helping her at all at he moment.
