LittleRefluxers

Hey, just had little Joshua diagnosed with reflux. Can be quite scary at times when you see the amount of sick he brings up! But we're getting there. I'm looking for some advice coz he tends to not sleep well during the day and can only be comforted in mums arms. And he always gets the hiccups!!!!!

Gabriel will only go to sleep in my arms, it can be really tiring. I can't really give lot of advice at the moment as we are trying to implement a regime where he falls asleep in his crib. It's had mixed results so far. Is he on medication?
we're trying to get him to sleep in his basket too but he just starts moaning and ends up getting picked up! hes on gaviscon its helped a bit but hes still being sick.
That's exactly what we were doing, mainly because if we left him he would start to get upset and would be sick. He is now on Domperidone, Ranitidine and Gaviscon and we have moved him from breast milk to formula. The vomiting has eased a great deal. That's why we feel a little more comfortable trying to implement a routine at this stage. It might be worth asking your doctor about other medication. Good luck.
I am having the same problems with Jack - he hardly sleeps during the day - we are at early stages too (he is 8 weeks and been on ranitidine and domperidone for a week plus we have just put him on Neocate as there may be a milk intolerance too) so just learning the tricks. Have found that propping his moses basket up or letting him fall asleep in his bouncy chair and then moving him into his basket along with blaring out opera music seems to do the trick but its not for long as the slightest sound wakes him and then he usually starts groaning with wind or other discomfort!!! It is bizarre he falls asleep to the same music time and time again - it is driving me mad but anything for a bit of quiet time. Jack has the hiccups a lot too. Taking him out in the car also works for a bit. Good luck this seems to require loads of patience!
we resorted to a dummy as the sucking seemed to soothe amelia. she is now 14 weeks but now facing the challenge of weaning off dummy!! she wakes a lot in night. not sure if it is the dummy or reflux. she has gotten worse the past couple of weeks. been on gaviscon for 3 weeks. waiting for hosp appointment for paed referral to see about the 3 meds.
ps, try putting thm on their left side to sleep. x
i see, this reflux is horrible the gaviscon has helped but he's still being sick a lot.
A dummy really helped my eldest daughter with her reflux when she was tiny; unfortunately she still has it at 3 years old (the dummy not the reflux!) Just been told off by the dentist so trying to wean her off it with zero success!! Does anyone have any tips?
Same with us except he likes bagpipe music. sometimes u just feel at the end of ur tether!!!!
Hi
My Daughter is also 3 and we managed to get her off her dummy last weekend, it was her birthday, so thought it would be a good time. we told her that the dummy faries wanted her dummy as she was a little big for it now and they wanted to know what she would like in exchange for it, she wanted a big girls bike, so we got 3 helium ballons tied the dummy and a note to it and let our daughter let go of the ballons herself and told her they were going to the dummy faries and when she wakes up they would leave her a bike. we all made a big thing by saying bye to the dummy as it went up in the air, what amazed us is a rainbow came up just after so we told her it was the dummy fairy saying Thank you lol. and the next day she woke up with a new bike for her birthday, but you could get something smaller as its not a birthday. worked well for us the first night was a bit of a nightmare but she's fine now, not once woken up asking for it. good luck and i hope this helps, i can upload some pictures as we took some for her to look back on..
Just had to say that is so funny and so cute. What a great idea! I will remember that one for the future - could have many uses (not just dummies!).
Thanks, will try it - just not sure how I'm going to manage the rainbow though...........!!!
