Hi there Emily!
Sorry to hear about your daughter. I understand it is just such a nightmare. When Ellis lost weight again - no-one seemed worried apart from me. Ellis had treid lots of different milks and meds and I was not happy with the lack of interest the paeds showed in his weight loss. We were willing to go private as we were at the stage were I was distrought. However, when I spoke to Dr Crabbe he said he was to young to seen privately - but he got me an appointment within a few days on the NHS. I think it is prob only worth going private if you go to one of the top reflux specialists - the one down South at the Portland St - Dr Mike Thompson is also supposed to be really good - Jen who is also on this site and has helped me with advice - is under him.So she would be great to chat to.
The reason Ellis was speeded through a bit with Crabbe was because he had tried almost everything. But the difference in his knowledge and key questions he asked was amazing - I felt like whatever the outcome and advice he gave me - he was so trustworthy that I could believe what he said. He really was great. In terms of your situation I would ask the doctor to refer you to a specialist - one of the top 5 in reflux - find out the name of the one you want - don't take no for an answer. If not see one of the privately
