Help!! Where to next?
Unfortunately after just a day or two infant gaviscon seems to be having no effect whatsoever. I rang GP at 8.30 this am only to be told I could only see a nurse. My HV number is just ringing out!! The nurse was not meant t c children under 6mths and my LO is only 7 wks old, so she could only prescribe more gaviscon which I was hoping and praying would work. Unfortunately not. Is it meant to work straight away? Not really sure, n really getting any information from people who should give it. Today she has cried with such pain. I am just after a little advice really as to what the mext step might be? Would be great to here some replies.

In my experience, gaviscon doesn't really do much and generally only makes the baby constipated! Sounds like your daughter might need ranitidine and domperidone. Ask your GP to refer you to a Paed.

I agree with Emma. It gave my daughter really bad tummy ache because of the constipation. It did workfor a couple of weeks but then it stopped working and she was given ranitidine and domperidome.
