LittleRefluxers

Thanks to reading about reflux on this website I instantly knew that is what my 6 week old daughter was suffering from. I knew having read other's comments that it might be difficult for anyone to take it seriously. Because of the comments and persistence of many people who have left comments I knew that I would have to fight hard. I went to GP on monday was basically fobbed off. My LO suffered until friday crying and not sleeping, also in very obvious discomfort when feeding and afterwards. Went back to GP, after HV saif to try and get some infant gaviscon. He did not give me any, so I left GP very unsatisfied. By Saturday I was in tears as my LO was. This made my husband ring NHS direct who told me to speak t my HV on Monday about changing her FF (She in on C&G 1st). Again, this was not good enough when she had now been crying persistently for 48hrs. I made decision t go to local NHS walk in centre, where luckily a lovely lady doc took us seriously n sent us straight t hos t c a paed. He watched her feed and thank god diagnosed acid reflux!!! A huge thank you to anyone who has ever written comments on this website, it has been a god send and without you I dont think I would have managed to get this sorted so quickly. My LO is now on infant gaviscon n last night was the first night she has slept well and not been in discomfort!!!!!

Hi Kelly.

So good to hear your LO is happier now. This site is a god send. I would have gone mad without it!!! You do need to fight to get something done. I ended up taking my son to A&E and we finally saw a paed after 12 weeks of screaming!!! Now that we have found the right meds, he is so much happier (as are mummy and daddy!!!)

Glad the comments on here helped.

Hi

I am also glad to hear that things have eventually sorted themselves out for you, (or have at least improved).

Like you, I had weeks of the HV and GP fobbing me off and saying that babies are sick and reflux is just a made up word for a sicky baby! I had to make the GP prescribe gaviscon and then I had weeks of that doing nothing and I had to show the GP a video clip of my daughter vomiting before she referred her to a Paed (she was 25 weeks old by this point!)

This web site is great! The people are really nice and it is good to let off some steam to people who understand!
