LittleRefluxers

Hi,

My LO is nearly 4 months old and has been taking gaviscon for 2 months for her reflux. However in the last few weeks the old symptoms have started returning - screaming in pain, foul breath etc. I am taking her back to the GP but wondered what would be the likely alternative/next step in terms of treatment for her?

Thanks

Hi

thanks for the info.

LO was diagnosed at 8 week check as I mentioned symptoms and she actually demonstrated some of the and the GP said straight away that it was reflux.

She is currently on 2 sachets per bottle and 5 bottles a day so pretty much the max. As she takes 8oz bottles and has since about 6 weeks (she is now 16 weeks) I don't think I can reduce them to get a 6th feed in.

Just another question - the medications like Ranitidine and Losec - can they be prescribed by a GP or will it require a referal to a paed? I already have a referal to the allergy clinic (now not needed) but that was a 2 month wait.
